At See Eyecare we can assess your suitability for all types of contact lenses. We welcome existing contact lens wearers to our practice along with new wearers or client’s who want to try them for the first time. Our optometrists can make a recommendation that suits your eyes and lifestyle.
SOFT Contact Lenses
Soft contact lenses are the most commonly fitted lenses. We have access to all suppliers including Coopervision, Alcon, Johnson and Johnson, Bausch and Lomb, Capricornia and Gelflex. Lenses are available in daily, fortnightly and monthly disposable. Toric lenses for astigmatism and multifocal lenses for people that need reading glasses are also easily available. We can even prescribe custom disposable lenses for higher prescriptions.
Rigid Gas Permeable (RGP)
Rigid lenses (or RGP’s) are fitted when the prescription is a little more complex or for people with corneal conditions. Brooke and Beth are experienced in more complicated lens fittings including keratoconics, post-corneal graft and mini-scleral lenses to name a few.
ORTHOKERATOLOGY
Orthokeratology (or Ortho-K) is another type of rigid contact lens that is worn overnight and you can be free from glasses or contact lenses during the day. It is a completely reversible technique that gently remoulds the cornea with overnight lens wear in such a way that your vision is great during the day. Ortho-K is also used as a treatment for controlling myopia, it has been shown in many studies to slow the progression of myopia.
